The basics
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a 50v50 tactical FPS set in the Vietnam War, developed by Expression Games and published by Team17. It is the Vietnam-era follow-up to Hell Let Loose, and the first in the series to feature crossplay.
Release & platforms
The game launched on August 13, 2026 on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Crossplay connects PC and console, with controller aim-assist values kept identical across platforms.
Factions
Two asymmetric factions: the United States Armed Forces (helicopters, fire support) and the North Vietnamese Army (tunnel networks, ambush). Each has unique logistics and vehicles.
Maps & modes
Six large-scale launch maps spanning jungle, rivers, airfields, docks and coastline. Modes include Warfare (50v50 tug-of-war over 5 sectors) and Offensive (attackers vs defenders), plus rotating new modes.
Signature systems
- Helicopters (US only): troop and supply transport, fire support.
- Tunnel networks (NVA): unseen movement and ambush.
- Patrol boats: riverine combat across Vietnam's waterways.
- 3D Tactical Map: generated from the world for better terrain reading.
What kind of experience
Slow, lethal and teamwork-driven. Communication matters as much as aim. This is a shooter that rewards coordination, positioning and patience.
